Off The Record celebrates the power of music to bring people together. It’s rooted in the belief that life’s greatest moments are marked with music — the kind that elicits a rush of nostalgia and emotion with a single familiar note.
Inspiration for Off The Record comes from Guadalajara, Mexico, where co-founders Ryan and Julie Oberholtzer encountered a venue that brings generations together to sing - where younger patrons embrace the music of their elders in an emotional group-sing format. Through their world travels, the Oberholtzers came to realize that not only is music an integral facet of culture, but it’s also a powerful connector that can bridge cultures and bring people together. That may be because music evokes memories and emotions in a way few other experiences can.
At Off The Record, strangers come together to share an experience and let loose like no one is watching. Professional DJs introduce a unique energy and different genres each night, while the serving staff plays their own part in bringing each theme to life. The lights are dimmed to lower inhibitions, and lyrics stream on screens so everyone can sing along.
